Different Variations of The Classic French Manicure

Different Variations of The Classic French Manicure

The classic French manicure is a timeless look that has been around forever! It's simple, elegant and pretty much perfect for any occasion. Nail artists have been elevating it with different variations over the past few years. It seems like every few months, a new version pops up and they can be hard to keep track of, so we made a quick guide of the current 7 most popular iterations for the staple nail art.

1. Double French

Instead of a single line, the double french manicure involves two lines at the tip of the nail. They can either have negative space or sit closely together.

2. Micro French

The micro french manicure trend features a thin line of color on the tip of the nail. It's very minimalistic and doesn't require much length.

3. Inverted French

The inverted french manicure switches up the classic design by having the line placed by your cuticles instead of the nail tips

4. Pointed French

The pointed french manicure looks great on medium-long, coffin or square shaped nails. It features a tip that comes to a point in the middle.

5. Side Tip French

The side-tip french features straight lines drawn diagonally across the nail running from one side to the center of the tip.

6. V-Cut French

The V-cut french manicure ditches the traditional french tip. Instead, at the end of the nail, it has two lines that cross in a V shape.

7. Deconstructed French

The deconstructed french trend is the most abstract take on the nail design. Instead of crips, clean lines, it features colorful blobs at the tip of the nail over a neutral base. It almost looks as if the French tip is dripping off of the nail.

There are so many variations of the French manicure. And while they can be confusing, they're also a great way to mix up your nail art without completely overhauling your design. We hope you learned something new here and we will keep updating this list whenever a new method pops up in the nail world.
